As an advocate for ocean conservation and reef restoration, I'm an avid diver, environmentalist and enthusiastic traveler. Have served as a Deckhand and Environmental Science Educator in the Atlantic and a Dive Master and naturalist in the Pacific.

The following are locations I've traveled and/or studied. Thanks for visiting today and don't hesitate to get in touch!

Psychology Degree

Graduated from The Ohio State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Worked for Ohio State University Catering for three years, and started a pilot program for redistributing excess and unused food to children’s homes and homeless shelters.

Dive Master and Organic Farming

Worked on a completely self-sustaining farm equipped with rain water retaining tanks and solar panels. Went from open water diver to assistant instructor while working at SeaSport Divers dive shop on Kauai. Organized beach and ocean clean ups. Dove Ni’ihau, the western most island in the Hawaiian chain, home to the endangered Hawaiian monk seal.

Floating Classroom Educator and Deckhand

Lived a season on board the tall ship SoundWaters in the Long Island Sound, Connecticut. Worked with elementary through high school students. Taught science education, conservation and sailing techniques during the school year. In the summer crewed the sunset tours for guests donating to the SoundWaters foundation.

Invasive Species Management

While at OSU, went on an Alternative Spring Break with The Student Conservation Association to the Everglades National Park in Florida. Battled invasive plant species, cleaned up communal park areas and searched for, and removed, boa constrictors released illegally into the swamp lands. Photos courtesy of Emma Garcia Cardwell.

Rebuilding Homes and Scuba Diving

First trip to Puerto Rico with Global Works as a sophomore in high school. Took on projects such as building sustainable housing for families affected by tropical storms. Transformed outdoor amphitheaters to allow access for those in wheelchairs and others with restricted mobility.

Second trip to Puerto Rico with friends to explore the underwater world. Spent time on the island of Vieques, in the clear warm water and white powder sand. Played at night in the bioluminescence waters.
